SilverWind Miniatures began as a small family farm in 1994. We focus on beauty, athletic ability, intelligence, willing personality, and bloodline preservation. Our breeding stock is expected to exhibit exquisite conformation and have the prepotency to reproduce it. They are also very much a part of our family and therefore handled daily, and my children have been raised right along with them.
We strongly feel that blood has a part to play, and have chosen to focus most of our effort on the preservation of the rare Winks Miniatures. We stand the 27 yr old Winks Revelation, who is an outstanding example of what a Miniature should be. This stallion won the equivalent of 3 National Grand Champion Open Pleasure Driving titles, the 3 yrs before the title was given, per the registry office. He is passing on his fantastic motion to his sons. He was not bred to Miniatures but to Welsh mares in his younger years, & then went to a pet home. His blood is therefore rare in registered foals, and we have bred him sparingly due to his age since we bought him at 21 yrs young. We now have 4 sons to carry on his legacy, and are expecting the first foals from one of them in 2008. Be sure to check them out!
Our mares and outcross stallion are an integral part of our program, and include daughters of Choco's Little Specks Red Boy, Winks Rhema, Winks Jingles, FWF Little Boy Blue, Winks Talitha, Iowa's Little Kernel, Mitzy's Trigger VB (sire of Choco's Little Specks Red Boy), Winks Spirit and bloodlines of Rowdy, FWF Blue Boy, Bond, Sligo, & Komoko's Little Husseler.
We welcome your inquiries and usually have a few exceptional miniatures for sale. Whether you want a pet, breeding stock, or show horse we will be happy to help you. We also breed a couple exceptional Shetlands every yr, with the same high standards. Reasonable prices on unreasonably beautiful Mini's and Shetlands!
